We hope this website will give you a brief insight into our school along with useful information.
Here at Hadleigh Infants and Nursery we offer a large, spacious environment, in which children are happy and motivated to learn. We believe every child is unique and work hard to develop the individual abilities of your child, as well as providing for his or her particular needs. The school has designed a curriculum to ensure that the children leave with key skills linked to Reading, Writing and Maths that will support them as they move into the next phase of their learning journey. Teachers put the children at the center of all curriculum decisions. While working alongside our children, the teacher identify their interests and adapt the curriculum offer to ensure the children are fully engaged and motivated to learn. The whole teaching team are committed to delivering a broad and balanced curriculum which is littered with experiences and activities that inspire the children. This approach has enabled the school to provide the children with a well -rounded experience over the past year. Together, we will continue to develop and improve our curriculum further during the next academic year.
As part of our school’s curriculum, we offer the children daily wellbeing sessions to support both mental and physical development. As part of our physical wellbeing sessions, all of the children from Nursery to Year 2 are currently taking part in our ‘Round the World Challenge’ where collectively we are walking, jogging or running 44,000km which will collate to the distance around the equator. The children have thoroughly enjoyed this challenge and have been very proud of their personal certificates which celebrate their key milestones. Due to the positive feedback and benefits both the physical and mental wellbeing session shave had this year, we have decided to continue to provide this support moving into 2019/2020.
Alongside our curriculum, we also teach the children five key life skills known as our core values. The school’s core values are – Independence, Resilience, inquisitiveness, Respectfulness and Collaborativeness. It is our belief that with the high quality teaching the children receive here at Hadleigh Infants and Nursery School coupled with being taught our key life skills they will leave the school well rounded and ready for the next phase of their education.
The teaching at Hadleigh Infants and Nursery begins by building on the many skills you have taught your child at home. We value the contributions you have to offer to your child’s education, either at home or at school. We look forward to working with you to support the all-round development of your child.
At Hadleigh Infants and Nursery School we have the facilities to support children to develop their social and emotional needs. Our Learning Mentor works closely with both children and their families to support them during their time at the school. We have excellent facilities such as our soft room and nurture room which are used on a regular basis to further support the children. Both the facilities and provision we offer have a positive impact on the children’s behaviour and academic outcomes. The staff, who work at the school, are very supportive and always work hard to support families in any way they can for the benefit of the children in our care. We hope that you and your child will have many happy experiences ahead at Hadleigh Infants and Nursery School.
